About the Role:

Your Coop are looking for a Non-Food Buyer to join our society. We’re a multi-business group operating in Food Retail, Childcare, Funeral-care, Travel, Post Office, Pharmacy and Utilities, meaning you will get a breadth of multi-sector experience in a complex and fast-moving organisation. As a Buyer you will be responsible for: 
 
Be responsible for sourcing non-food mainstream suppliers for selected Midcounties Co-operative stores
Meeting, managing, assessing, engaging & motivating suppliers in order to develop an exciting and evolving range
Accountable for cost price negotiation to ensure margin targets are attained
To document and strategize events and seasonal activity in order to review and improve future performance
To ensure sales growth throughout specific Midcounties Co-operative stores through review of commercial performances
To drive footfall in stores through strong seasonal promotional activity and working alongside Marketing to promote the offer
Follow market tends to refresh, maintain & increase customer interest & engagement with non- food range
Communicate effectively between our suppliers, fellow operations colleagues and Midcounties Co-operative stores
Conduct full compliance reviews of suppliers to ensure all are within agreed parameters
Accountable for range reviews in conjunction with Direct Sourcing Team & all partners
To visit specific Midcounties Co-operative stores as a minimum once a month and attend internal business meeting when required
Work with our partners to support them in defining our seasonal ranges and continually reviewing performance

About You:

 To be a successful candidate for this role you will need: 
 
Previous experience as a buyer in the non-food sector
Strong management skills in order to provide clear support and direction to the Buying Admin
Maintains strong and profitable working relationships with external partners.
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint
Analytical and high levels of numeracy and literacy
Strong communication skills & ability to communicate effectively at all levels
